The old form doesn't dissolve easily.
Crossing the threshold is no easy feat
Every transformation meets resistance and most of us hit the same forces holding the old form together:
- A nervous system stuck on alert. Chronic stress and anxiety keep the body bracing and the mind scanning making it nearly impossible to drop into the presence that real transformation requires.
- No structured path through the dissolution. Without a holistic framework that integrates discipline, presence, and intention, even our best efforts at change tend to scatter or stall.
- The pull of long-held patterns. Entrenched habits don't dissolve on their own. They carry momentum, history, and identity and loosening their grip takes more than willpower.

Padma Shakti is Founder and Director of Rasa Yoga School of Ayurveda Yoga and Bay Area Yoga Collective.

Padma's journey is marked by her own thresholds: the shadows of depression, the entanglements of co-dependent relationships, and physical injuries that ranged from a severe IT Band and hip injury to a dislocated elbow. Each was met with the transformative tools of Ayurveda Yoga, befriended rather than fought, and slowly became ground for what came next. Through the unprecedented challenges of running a business during the pandemic, she lived the path of devotion in real time, turning every density of life into material for conscious creation.
Padma's story is a testament to what becomes possible when the mind is befriended rather than fought. She has lived the dissolution and the emergence, and she now teaches from the other side of the threshold. Through her lived experience, she embodies the essence of the teachings she imparts, inspiring others to enter their own chrysalis on purpose and emerge into the wholeness that has been forming inside them all along.
